Couples sessions at Rebel & Romance are a bit different than what you’ll find elsewhere; they are intimate, editorial-leaning shoots for two, with less overt sexuality and a lot more romance. We prioritise interesting locations and real connection, poses that don’t look posey, and a collection of images that you can get lost in.

Couples shoots are similar to a solo shoots, except there are two of you. We start with a pre-shoot consultation, full shoot planning (including venue options and mood board review), wardrobe guidance, etc.

On shoot day, you can expect professional hair and makeup, expert direction throughout, and lots of coaching and encouragement. All couples sessions include plenty of time to be photographed together, as well as some time for individual images of each person.

If you or your partner tend to feel awkward on camera, please don’t worry – this is very normal and it nevers stops us from having a wildly successful shoot (even if you don’t believe me yet). When the final images are ready, you’ll have a private image reveal and be blown away by the results.

The Experience

No experience needed, you don’t need to be models. In fact, you don’t need to have any idea what you’re doing at all. I’ll talk you through everything.

Most couples arrive more nervous than they would care to admit, and leave feeling a weirdly high buzz of confidence. It’s honestly a lot of fun.

The Vibe

Intimate, but not explicit. Cinematic, personal, a little bit spicy. Think high end fragrance advert or stills from a James Bond film.

We’ll create images you’ll covertly show your closest friends (who will freak out), but probably not your mama.

“It’s really important to me that everyone feels as comfortable as possible on set. This is sort of an inherently awkard thing to do right? So we need to front load the work. We do a pre-shoot planning call, mood boards, and talk about things like wardrobe, poses, and nudity. The goal is to ensure everyone is on the same page and knows what to expect well before we start shooting.

If you’re looking for something on the erotic end of the spectrum, I’m not going to be the best match for you. I’m happy to photograph up to the level of tasteful nudity, but this should be primarily a photographic experience rather than… something else.

That said, if you’re in a relationship, this is basically the best date night ever. It’s exciting, nervewracking, and exhilarating all at the same time. You’ll get to see each other win in a totally new way, and you’ll have so much to talk about after. Not to mention, some very attractive images you can scarcely believe are two of you.

If this sounds like what you’re looking for, I’d be delighted to work with you.”

– Stormy

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the shoot?

For most couples sessions, we plan for about 1.5 – 2 hours of active shooting time, plus an hour or so for hair and makeup. Allow for around 3-4 hours total.

Where do sessions take place?

Sessions take place across London, with venues selected based on the overall look and feel you’re after. Anything from a swanky hotel suite in the West End, a warehouse in North London, a stunning period property in Clapham, or a sleek, modern studio in East London is possible, with many other options too.

What should we wear?

Whatever makes you both feel good. Some couples bring lingerie and a look suitable for a very fancy evening out, others opt for a more casual, cozy vibe that feels like Sunday morning in bed. We’ll chat about ideas and options for wardrobe during your pre-shoot consultation, so don’t worry if you’re drawing a blank at the moment.

We're really akward on camera. Is that a problem?

It really isn’t! Lots of couples feel exactly like this – after all, this is probably a big step outside your comfort zone. I promise taking the risk pays off, and I’d really encourage you to give it a go.

I assume you know nothing and have no idea what to do, so you can expect lots of direction and coaching the entire time. We keep the atmosphere light and fun, so you’ll never feel under pressure or like you’re not doing something correctly. Nine times out of ten, you’ll find you settle in just fine – usually within the first 15 minutes or so.

Do both people get hair and makeup?

Hair and makeup is included for one person as standard. For couples where both partners would like hair and makeup, this can be arranged at an additional cost. Please just mention it when you enquire and we will plan for extra time and artists as needed.

Is nudity allowed?

Yes, with some limits. If you’d like to do a spicier couples shoot that’s perfectly fine, but let’s discuss this further during the pre-shoot consult. My main concern is always that everyone is comfortable, so let’s be sure we’re all on the same page ahead of shoot day.

“I was surprised by how relaxed and easy going it was. Stormy helped guide us through awkwardness like posing when we weren’t sure what to do, and I was pleasantly surprised by how well everything flowed once we got into the swing of it! I’ve been going through some body changes and have been feeling very self conscious, but I didn’t think about that at all in this experience. The environment was welcoming and empowering.” – K

“I was a bit taken aback at the sensuality of how my partner had been captured. I work in an adjacent industry, and am very used to seeing women photographed like that, so it’s a wonderful thing to have images with my partner with the same consideration and attention to detail.” – Anj
