Hot off the Press: Rebel & Romance Boudoir Photography featured in Philosophie Boudoir Magazine
It’s an honour to be featured in the latest issue of Philosophie Boudoir Magazine, an internationally distributed publication that curates and presents beautiful boudoir imagery. Part magazine, part fine art/coffee table book, this publication is put out by the Association of International Boudoir Photographers and is available for purchase here.
I love Philosophie’s mission statement, which is “to portray women in the most beautiful light, both literally and metaphorically.” They chose two of my favourite images of Jada and Olivia to print, check out the tear sheets below:)
I’m also excited to let you in on a little secret…I’ve done a second shoot with the fabulous Olivia. I can’t say much about it now, except that the shoot was genius and involved a little bit of pin up, a little bit of Morocco, and a lot of fine art nudity. Selected images are slated for publication in August, but I’ll keep you posted as I’m given release dates. It’s all very hush-hush and secretive with printed publications, but you can see a teensy sneak peek by following me at: stormy_rebelandromance
Bury St. Edmunds Boudoir Photo Shoot: Natasha’s Boudoir Photo Shoot in London
I seem to attract my American homegirls like a moth to a flame lately (not that I’m complaining, I love you ladies). Natasha is one of them. She’s a beautiful mother of two adorable boys, a loving wife, and most importantly, a totally dynamic, amazing woman who has your back from the word go.
Natasha lives near the Bury St. Edmunds, so we planned her Bury St. Edmunds boudoir photo shoot using a mish-mash of Pinterest boards and emails and phone calls. The whole thing was supposed to be a surprise, but she got too excited about it and ended up telling her Mr. ahead of time. Oh well, not the first that’s happened:)
Then we got really carried away and planned a destination photo shoot in Paris too. Y’know, as you do. More on that soon.
Mrs. N and I opted for a luxury, boutique hotel in Central London. You’ve got options for you own Bury St. Edmunds Boudoir Photo Shoot, we can shoot nearer you or me, it just depends on what works with your schedule and what look and feel you want your session to have.
Not your Mom’s (Mum’s) shapewear. Purple is such a great colour with this sort of skin tone, and I love how this image turned out.
How amazing are Mrs. N’s abs? Hand on heart, she has two children. I have actually seen them, otherwise I would have called her a liar.
Love this smile.
Oh hello hot mama!
Give me a window and some sheer curtains, and I’m a happy photographer. Mrs. N looks divine in the backlight.
COVERGIRL
This giant blue headboard was my favourite feature of this location.
Tasha has a Rihanna sort of thing going on in this image on the right, which I loooove. Louboutins borrowed from my shoot wardrobe never hurt either:)
Super sexy bodyscape.
I do a LOT of stupid things on shoots in order to make people crack up like this. I’m fully aware I look and sound like an idiot, but c’mon, is it not totally worth it?
It’s seems like lately I’ve been blessed with really great light in bathrooms. I don’t know what this is all about, but I’m going with it. Tasha, you are SO BEAUTIFUL, in a tub or out of it!
Genius. Loved this whole shoot, and I can’t wait to do more Bury St. Edmunds Boudoir Photo Shoot sessions. A little bird told me there are a few of you out there that are interested, so don’t be shy!
Tasha, you know I adore you – thanks for an amazing shoot and for being so lovely and cool:) Everyone else, stay tuned for more of Mrs. T and her Mr. in Paris!

Hot off the Press: Rebel & Romance Bridal Boudoir Photography Featured in Pretty Pear Bride
I’m thrilled that Rebel & Romance Boudoir Photography has recently been featured in the Summer Issue of Pretty Pear Bride. Images I created with Jada, A, and Olivia were selected as a muli-page feature showcasing bridal boudoir photography for curvy women.
Editor Shafonne, the brains behind Pretty Pear Bride explains that, “Pretty Pear Bride was started as a site where plus size brides can find bridal inspiration that THEY long for. So many people planning their weddings struggle with finding inspiration that includes images that look like them. Everyone wants to see people that look like them, doing what they are trying to do because it allows them to envision that they can be just as glamorous and gorgeous as they imagined. So the mission was clear: merge a love for blogging and wedding planning with creating a place for plus size brides to see themselves in wedding inspiration.”
The Summer Issue of Pretty Pear Bride is available for purchase here, or you can stop by their website for a regular dose of curvy bridal inspiration.

International Boudoir Photography: a Destination Photography Session in Paris
So, I was recently in Paris for work….if you can call doing a destination photography session with beautiful people (Natasha & Derek) in the most romantic city in the world “work” that is:) Although it was a very quick trip, it was such a great experience and I thought I’d share a few travel pictures with you here, ahead of showing you all the gorgeous proper images of N&D of course.
It was my first trip to Paris. Despite lots of warnings about the attitude of “The French,” I’m happy to report that only one waitress was excessively rude to me. Everyone else was fine, nice even! Seeing as I speak exactly two French words (Bonjour and Boudoir), it was a pleasant surprise. I did spend quite a lot of time in a panic that someone would try to talk to me, but it’s still a city after all, and people mostly keep to themselves. I’ve spoken to a few friends about this since returning, and we’ve all agreed that if you can survive the complete and total unfriendliness that is living in London, Paris is no worse.
One of the first images I took in Paris. This was just outside our hotel. Basically, the whole city looks like this – the WHOLE city. You have to see it to believe it.
The Louvre, the Seine, and that time my husband said his famous last words, “It’s only about a ten minute walk.”
Such a perfect street.
La Tour Eiffel.
I call this “The Belly of the Beast.” The Eiffel Tower is way, way bigger than you expect it to be. Precisely the opposite of Big Ben.
The Lock Bridge….
…so glad I did my nails. Unfortunately, orange doesn’t seem that romantic on second thought. Oh well.
This guy was amazing.
There must be a thousand great locations to plan a destination photography session, but I’m glad this one was in Paris.
This is the Bato Bus. The Bato Bus is my friend, especially after walking the whole day prior to our shoot. This is the time where I almost fell of the back of the boat.
Awww. Big dress. Romance. Paris. Photography. All things I like:)
My husband took these. I think he’s trying to put me out of a job.
Luckily, as long as he keeps getting distracted by pigeons, I think I’ll be okay:)
So that’s it! A little roundup of my first destination photography session in Paris. Stay tuned for finished images of Natasha and Derek, you won’t want to miss them.
I love the idea of doing more destination photography sessions like this, so if it’s something you’re interested in please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Boudoir, anniversary, engagement, birthday, just because – I’m not picky! All excuses are good excuses in my book, and flights in Europe are pretty cheap at the moment – let’s plan something amazing:)

Plus Size Boudoir Photography: Kate’s Boudoir Photo Shoot in London
Today’s blog beauty is Kate….
Kate is a blonde bombshell, and she came well prepared with lots of outfit and shoe options. This is Kate’s first plus size boudoir photography session with me, but I suspect we’ll be going for round two before we know it:) Enjoy.
Kate and I arranged to shoot at a gorgeous French antique sort of location in East London. Although this place has a few quirks, I really loved shooting here and am looking forward to going back.
I mean, with a bed like that it’s never going to be a hard sell, is it? I love Kate in this simple white lingerie set. Throw on a veil and a garter and this is a great way to do a contemporary bridal boudoir look.
Such a pretty face!
We added in this frilly white petticoat from Kate’s personal lingerie collection, and it worked so well. Items like this are great for covering up trouble bits, and they also give us lots of fun posing options. If you love images that showcase movement, a big skirt or dress is a no-fail way to create that look.
Just like Sunday morning…
There’s nothing like good backlighting to highlight natural beauty.
Probably my favourite image of the day. Look. At. Those. Legs. Also, it reminds me of a particular plus size boudoir photography editorial shot by Vogue photographer Steven Meisel. I wrote about it ages ago, you can see the images here.
This simple black bodysuit is a great option for a plus size boudoir photography session with Rebel & Romance Boudoir Photography.
Kate makes it all look so effortless.
I opted for a lot of black and white images in the end. The moodiness and contrast seems to fit Kate a bit better than a light and airy colour images, even though during the shoot I was envisioning a much lighter outcome.
At the very end of the shoot, Kate whips this bad boy out. Although she warned me, at length, how everyone hates it and makes fun of her for wearing it, I really really want one now.
Kate, you were fab! Can’t wait until next time;)

Bridal Boudoir Photography: Miss I’s Bridal Boudoir Photo Shoot
Today on the blog: Me and Miss I create a sneaky gift for her fiance!
Miss I, a gorgeous Norwegian with extra long legs, is in the midst of planning a late summer wedding. She emailed me a few months ago to say that she had been thinking about doing a bridal boudoir photo shoot as a surprise for her fiance for some time now, and she was ready to book it in. I squealed, then we coordinated travel plans, made arrangements, and it wasn’t long before I had the pleasure of welcoming her to London with open arms.
How pretty, right?!
I’d scouted out a new shooting space for Miss I’s session – a part studio, part location space hybrid on Brick Lane that looked great. Unfortunately the owners of the property made a mistake noting down what time we were due to arrive, which left Debbie (makeup artist) and I stood in the freeeeeezing cold. While I frantically rang around trying to find out where everyone was, Miss I arrived. I was worried she’d be put off by the delay, but she was such a good sport about it – we just had a cup of tea around the corner and a chat while we waited for someone to show up and let us in. It was really lovely actually, it made me think we ought to do be delayed more often!
Love this black bodysuit Miss I brought for her bridal boudoir photo shoot. It’s similar to this Marika Vera purple Valentina Playsuit I pinned, but probably a lot more affordable.
Miss I looks lovely in this window, which is why I kept making her climb up there all day. No pain, no gain girls.
Get a load of those eyes!
For her second look, Miss I went with a distinctly bridal set. I think this is a must-do if you’re planning a bridal boudoir photo shoot. It really helps tie the album or folio box together, and it’s a great excuse to buy more pretty lingerie even if you don’t need it to wear with your dress. This corset-style top is a great option if you’re not a huge fan of your midsection. That said, you’ll see in a minute that Miss I obviously has the best set of abs in Norway and probably ought to have them on show constantly.
Detail shots like this are great in an album too, as they help to transition the story of the shoot along.
A gorgeous smile in look number three, which was a sheer black corset number with stockings.
I added a ladder in as well. It gives a sense of dimension and texture to the images and worked really well. Although, we did have to be pretty careful – nothing says un-sexy like a sliver in your bum.
So about those abs I mentioned…ridiculous. I did not photoshop this one bit, those are her honest-to-goodness, make you feel like a complete and total slacker, genuine abs. If Miss I and I lived closer, I would straight up hire her to get my booty in shape. Or I would think about it at least, probably while comfort eating carbs on my sofa.
These images were created with a traditional seamless paper studio background, although still only using natural light. It’s a bit of a departure from my usual style, but I still like how they turned out.
LOVE love love the light in this space.
Miss I, it was so nice chatting with you and photographing you. Your album turned out stunning, and it’s already in the post on it’s way to you. Thanks for a great shoot, and very best wishes for your Wedding Day and a beautiful future with your Mr.! Can’t wait for round two with you:)

London Boudoir Photography: Montana’s Boudoir Photo Shoot
This week on the blog: Montana.
Some of you might know that I grew up in Idaho and lived in the state of Montana for a few years when I was a kid, so I sort of though Miss Montana and I would have loads to talk about. You know, harrowing stories about getting snowed in and camping in the summer and lying under the stars and stuff. Alas, Miss Montana has never been to Montana, and doesn’t really seem like the camping type. Oh well, she sure photographs pretty:)
Montana is a plus size model, currently signed with Hughes Model Management. We scheduled her first London Boudoir Photography session a for a few weeks ago, and she came prepared with a fabulous fur coat and the some gorgeous spiky Louboutins.
I love layering lingerie with outerwear. It’s unexpected, and adds so much interest to the outfit and resulting images. This vintage mink fur coat is a great example of how to pull off a look like this with style. This is also a great way to de-emphasise areas that might be a bit heavier than you’d like, as a loosely draped coat skims over lots of trouble areas and completely hides arms.
Montana has such a unique face shape, and that sort of big beautiful hair normally reserved for barbies and beach bums.
A crown of flowerss. Love this. If you’re feeling crafty, you could DIY this with a glue gun, headband, and some fake blooms. If not, this one is from H&M and was just a few Pounds!
This is probably my favourite image from our entire London Boudoir Photography shoot together. You know me though, I’m a sucker for a fierce stare down and beautiful backlight.
Just a few more…
I’ve been playing with a dark and grainy, Holga-inspired black and white look lately, as shown in this image on the left. It’s so fun, and really addictive. I still love a clean cut black and white though, like this image on the right.
A beautiful example of how to do a simple white shirt. This one is sheer and buttons up at the front. Again, it’s a great way to do a simple, sensual London Boudoir Photography look without actually showing that much skin.
One last image in the window. With the flowers. And the shoes. And the Holga effect.
This is a softer, bridal-y sort of finish, with a gorgeous fabric that lives in my shoot bag. The ottoman was weird, fluorescent shade of fuchsia that really wasn’t complimenting Montana’s skin tone, so we just covered the thing up!
Beautiful, clean black and white images, and legs for days.
Don’t you think Miss M looks a bit like Alicia Silverstone in this image? Rollin’ with the homies…
And that’s it! I’ll post a few extras on Facebook, so be sure to join us there.

Boudoir Photography: A Paris Destination Photo Shoot
Bonjour!
Just a quick sneak peek on the blog this week…
I’m back from a whirlwind tour of Paris, which was absolutely beautiful, inspiring, and over far too quickly. I managed to absolutely wreck my feet (note to self: buy proper, functional tourist shoes) but I had a lovely time photographing Mrs. N and her Mr. in the city of loooove.
Images and the full story coming soon:)

Plus Size Boudoir Photography: A’s London Boudoir Photography Shoot
Blogland, meet Miss A. You’re going to love her, just you wait and see.
A is a pretty young thing, with big doe eyes and a warm, welcoming, friendly personality. A is training to be a makeup artist, and has sort of fallen into the world of plus size modelling by accident. I liked her straight away, and we got on like a house on fire during her London Boudoir Photography session.
A’s got amazing skin. The sort of skin that just glows of it’s own accord. I just think her face is so interesting too, part baby face, part exotic beauty.
For A’s first London Boudoir Photography session, we started out with a white lace bodysuit. It’s an easy way to do a feminine look but still keep everything looking contemporary.
Our makeup artist for the day, Laura, did a fantastic job creating a look for Miss A. Loving the liner here.
Oh the headboard. We should all have one of these.
Oooh la la legs! This jacket is a great wardrobe option too. Classy, sophisticated, sexy, and magically hides any wobbly bits you may have around the middle.
A tight backlit portrait, just to show off those gorgeous eyes.
We channeled Angelina Jolie for this shot. This is a great example of how you can get away with wearing something in still images that you might not be comfortable actually stepping out in.
And then…..we made a bubble bath! I’m beyond thrilled with these images, they turned out even better than I had imagined they would.
I’m going to start adding this a regular feature for London Boudoir Photography sessions, because look! Look how cool these are!
You can easily wear a swimming costume for a bathtub set…
…but it’s still a piece of cake to create some implied nudes too.
I genuinely couldn’t decide colour or black and white on these. It’s a recurring issue with me.
Love this shot on the right. Love love love.
We did a handful of images in a fluffy white towel as well. If you like the more voyeuristic themed images, this would a great option to consider for your own London Boudoir Photography session.
To finish out the shoot, we did one quick lip change as the sun set on London, and A headed out to hit the town!
Miss A, it was so fab working with you. Thanks for a great shoot!

London Boudoir Photography: Miss Kelly’s Boudoir Photo Shoot
We’ve been back to the warehouse I love. This time with Kelly, a gorgeous leggy brunette. Kelly is a dancer and model, and it was a treat to have her in for a London Boudoir Photography Session.
On that note – stupid dancers. So pretty and stuff.
Anyway, Lauren (our fab makeup artist for the day) and I had fun testing out a few new ideas with Miss K. We started with a really simple setup – large window, brick wall, and a giant poly board to reflect light back on Kelly’s lovely face. This sort of shot is all about the hair and makeup, and also about nailing that effortless expression. It’s not as easy as it sounds, but Miss K did great.
I’m really loving these blue tones lately, especially with lighter coloured eyes.
Kelly is wearing a classic combo for her London Boudoir Photography shoot – detailed bra, high waisted bottoms, and my Louboutins. Or as the boys refer to them, “those red bottomed shoes.”
Same set, two different post processing finishes. I think the black and white version has a real old school glamour feel, and the warmer tones on this image on the right just makes Kelly’s lips look amazing.
Two seconds of sun. Nailed it. These are so moody!
Love these chairs. Almost as much as I love weird old couches.
This image on the right was created in front of what is literally the most poorly hung wallpaper I’ve ever seen. It’s in the makeup room, and the light was just so nice in there that I couldn’t pass it up. I’ve only included one, as I’m still a bit unsure about whether I really like it or not, lol!
We wanted to do a softer second look, so a quick hair/makeup change and an outfit switch was what the boudoir doctor ordered. We also moved to the far end of our shooting space, since I think this corner has a totally different feel to the rest of the space.
Variation on a theme again.
Kelly rules the world, Beyonce style.
That time we found a ladder,
and rocked it.
I’m working on a bridal boudoir photography portfolio section to add to the rest of the London Boudoir Photography imagery (slowly, but surely) so I used this headband made by my fabulously crafty friend Gaby to get a few bridal boudoir portraits.
Kelly, thanks so much, it was fab working with you!
