London Boudoir Photography: Mika’s Old Hollywood Glamour Boudoir Photo Shoot
As many of you know already, I try to do photo shoots with models fairly often. It’s a great way to get fresh material for the blog, as many of you are not so keen on being plastered all over the internet in your smalls. It’s also the best way for me to test out new sets and techniques, trial new support staff, and to just generally play and be creative without the pressure of delivering a full set of album worthy images.
Test shoots are always useful and usually quite fun, but every once in a while something magical happens….the stars align, the universe bends in my favour, and the most beautiful images leap into being. I thought I was the only one who experienced this, but I’ve recently discovered that one of my very favourite wedding photographers, Jasmine Star, has a specific term in reference to this phenomenon. When it happens to her, she calls it “the Unicorn Wedding.” HA! Us photographers, we’re all so weird.
So without further ado…below are the results of my Old Hollywood Glamour themed London Boudoir Photography test shoot. We did this just a few days ago, and I have to send much love to Mika, who was our beautiful model for the day, and to Debbie from MAC, who did an absolutely fantastic job. Hairstyling by yours truly:)
Oh hello BOMBSHELL.
Beautiful catlike eyeliner and a bright matte red lip give this look punch. Matching nails never hurts either.
This fan has been hanging around the studio for ages, but I never let anyone use it. It seems so cheesy. I think it works perfectly here though, so I’ll be relaxing my ban on the fan in the future.
The prettiest eyes you ever did see. Well, eye. The prettiest eye you ever did see.
Mika brought this polka dotted number with her, and I thought it was perfect for an Old Hollywood Glamour themed London Boudoir Photography session. For me, the trick to vintage looks is to give the era a good nod, but don’t go all out. It’s good to maintain a bit of modern style as well.
Oh how I wish I was blonde…
While we only did one outfit for this London Boudoir Photography test shoot, I still wanted to have a bit of variation. These blue toned looks are a little more edgy, but still playful.
The image on the left reminds me of Lola Bunny:)
Mika was such a trooper. I made her pose up against the freezing windows and lie on the cold hard floor, and she didn’t complain even once. My kind of model!
Just two last frames, as I cannot get over this makeup! Genius.

P.S. Just in case this post has made you depressed, I’m including a photo of Mika looking like a normal human:)
Have Mika’s images inspired you to start planning your own London Boudoir Photography Session with Rebel & Romance Boudoir?
I hope so! A London Boudoir Photography session is such a fun and rewarding experience! I’d suggest having a look through the information on this website to get the feel for how it all works. Then have a good think about the real reasons why you’re interested in doing this – sometimes it’s just to create a show stopping gift, but usually there’s a deeper motive as well – maybe you’re in need of some extra confidence, maybe you’d like to feel younger/hotter/more in control, maybe you’re just looking for a great excuse to go lingerie shopping….whatever your motives, I want to hear them. Give me a ring, tell me all, and we’ll get to work! This time of year books up quickly, so the sooner we can pencil you in on my calendar the better:)
London Boudoir Photography : June’s Boudoir Photo Shoot and Tattoo Photography
As a photographer, it’s a beautiful thing to see your work in magazines. The pages are so glossy, you get to imagine complete strangers around the world oohing and aahhing at your work, editors say nice things to you, and so on and so forth. Ahhh. I imagine it must be how actors and singers feel when they see their name in lights.
The downside to having anything published in print is that it’s often a very long, drawn out process. For example, these images were created over a year ago. You read that correctly, an entire year ago. I’ve been sitting impatiently ever since the shoot was marked “a go” and finally finally finally I’ve been told that they have been released and printed and published. Wooo!
If you’re USA based, you should be able to see this London Boudoir Photography and Tattoo Photography Editorial in an issue of Rebel Ink Magazine this week (available at WalMart I’m told). Unfortunately Rebel Ink is not available in the UK, but (fingers crossed) I’ll have a few tear sheets to share with you all soon.
This shoot features the inked up model June Summer, a Germany native, and makeup artist and hairstylist Goshka Topolska, who were both great girls to work with.
June was one of my first Tattoo Photography assignments, and it was great to be able to capture such interesting and vibrant tattoos and designs, all within the frame of my own artwork, London Boudoir Photography. June is so beautiful as well – such a pretty face!
Tattoo Photography tends to be quite harsh and contrasty. Seedy even. I wanted to show a softer side of June and of inked girls in general, so we used a white and cream palette, and plenty of natural light.
Pastel shades of pink and purple eye makeup and a pouty glossed lip also helped us show a feminine perspective for June’s London Boudoir Photography Session.
I quite like June’s skull piece, very McQueen-esque. That said, I’m a fan of her Hula girl as well!
A few of these images won’t be featured in the editorial. Apparently, even implied topless images are not allowed at WalMart. Oops;)
A few images from outside. I looooove June’s robe here, it reminds me of Marilyn Monroe for some reason! If any of you USA based R&R girls happen to stumble across a copy of these images in Rebel Ink, I’d be ever so grateful for a few snaps!

London Boudoir Photography: Erin’s Boudoir Photo Shoot
Blogland, I’m so pleased to introduce you to the Erin today.
Erin is universally likeable, and such a lovely, fun person to be around. I’ve had the chance to photograph her twice now, and I like her more every time I see her. Erin is originally from New Zealand, but has been calling London home for ages. Alas, she’s leaving our little island of rain for a whirlwind tour around the world with her husband. Afterward, their plan is to settle down under the Australian sun and get to business regaining an appropriate tan and maybe even hatching a few beautiful babies. I’m SO SAD to see her go, but beyond excited for her as well. Their first stop is Austin, Texas, and I’ve given her strict instructions to eat everything in sight. Especially the Texas Skillet Fries.
So, in celebration of a life well lived in this city, Erin and I planned a fabulous London Boudoir Photography Session to send her off! We didn’t tell her husband what we were up to, but rumor has it he was well pleased with our shenanigans.
Big, beautiful long hair, and an off the shoulder top make for very pretty London Boudoir Photography images! Having what might be the best set of legs this side of the Atlantic doesn’t hurt either;)
At Erin’s request, we used a set of clip in extensions to compensate for a recent haircut snaffu. You know the one – you ask for a few inches off and leave having lost a foot of hair? The trick with extensions is to buy real hair, not synthetic or artificial, and to match the colour as closely as possible to your own. If you’ve got time, you can even dye them yourself or have your hairdresser lend a hand. It’s well worth the effort. If you get the right set, no one will ever suspect you’ve got them in!
My favourite image from the day!
I loved this black lace set Erin wore. You just can’t go wrong with all black, it’s always elegant and sexy.
Such a beautiful, happy Erin.
Abs to die for! I asked her what her secret was, and she said it’s pole dancing classes! I’ve been hearing this a lot lately, and it’s starting to tempt me…I’m pretty sure I’d be absolute crap at it though.
Don’t her eyes look great? If you’ve never had your makeup done by a pro, you’re in for a real treat at your first London Boudoir Photography session!
It’s a bit tricky getting into this pose and making it look comfortable, but Erin nailed it.
To finish up, we decided to do something fun and colourful. I pulled out my Indian Summer set, which you may remember from Debbie’s London Boudoir Photography Session a few months ago.
I love this Bohemian sort of look, and it suits Erin perfectly, especially as she’s wearing a pink and black corset and a whole mess of mismatched jewelry.
Beautiful, beautiful Erin, you’re always such a pleasure to work with! I’m sending you my very best wishes for your travels and the future, and am crossing my fingers I’ll get to photograph you again in sunny Australia in the next few years!

London Boudoir Photography: Annie’s Dark and Mysterious Boudoir Photo Shoot
Miss A is a professional dancer (the respectable has been training since she could walk type of dancer, not the type that works after dark and takes payment in small notes). Miss A has recently changed her hair colour from a sunny blonde to a dark and mysterious brunette. You’d be surprised how much a dancer’s physical appearance factors into what jobs they do and doesn’t get. So with new hair ready, Annie was in dire need of some great images to update her portfolio. When she in touch and explained her dilemma to me, I welcomed her to the dark side with open arms, and we got busy planning an fun but edgy, fashion-forward session.
In preparation for our amazing shoot, we met up at a coffee shop for hair and makeup that morning. In an out of the way place at 9AM, you’d think we would be able to enjoy a quiet, relaxed atmosphere and caffeinate ourselves in peace. However, for the better part of an hour we were treated to the ramblings of a strange man, who talked SO loudly that he just would not be ignored. He was that particular sort of person that does not require an audience for a conversation, if you’re within earshot, you’re his target. Despite repeated and obvious attempts to indicate we weren’t interested in having an extended chat with him, we were lectured about all manner of BS, including a speech about how he knows all the dirty little secrets behind the Olympic Stadium (?) and how he’s worked for millionaires in Dubai, what he thinks about Boris, and loads of other rubbish. He even interrupted the people next to us several times, who were clearly in the middle of an interview.
Then it started to rain. Hard.
What’s that they say about best laid plans again?
But we would not be deterred! We escaped Mr. Loudmouth, got out our brollies out, and walked to our shoot location in the rain. As you do:)
This is one of my favourite spots for outdoor sessions, and a great little hideaway for a London Boudoir Photography session of your own. There are usually a few runners on the main path, but plenty of little places to shoot off the beaten track. It’s been my experience that runners are pretty camera shy anyway, they usually steer well clear of me.
Unfortunately, it was still raining, but we made it work.
Fall is my favourite time of year to shoot here too, such pretty Autumn colours. I loved photographing Annie, she’s just so darn NICE to everyone.
Who else is jealous of Miss A’s abs? I know it’s not just me…
Annie has an A line hair cut at the moment, but she’s planning to grow it out. Since these London Boudoir Photography images were primarily for sending off to castings and her agents (and getting Miss A PAID), we used extensions in most of her images to future proof them. Don’t you think she looks so different? I feel like I photographed two people!
Miss A wore an effortless, cool wardrobe of black jean shorts, a scallop edged black bra, and an oversized button down blouse. We paired this look with on-trend chunky heeled boots, because they look great, and also because stilettos are mighty difficult to wear in the mud.
I really love layering outfits with a blouse like this. It gives us the option to cover up bits you’re not fond of, and also gives you something to do with your hands.
For our second wardrobe look, we really went for it. Annie had created a Pinterest board for me with images she liked, so I knew exactly what she was looking for.
We went for a very dark makeup look. It’s not my first choice for most London Boudoir Photography sessions, but it was what the fashion doctor ordered for Miss A, and I think it looks great on her. I love that image of her on the left, such a stunning pair of eyes!
Besides, if you’re going to be hanging out under a bridge in the rain, you may as well look the part, right? Love these – so very different from the perky preppy blonde persona she had been projecting before.
I loved this dress too, which we all agreed was very ‘a la Florence – a black lace cross and sleeves with a waterfall hem. Can you believe it’s just another bargain bin winner from H&M?
Just a few more of the beautiful Miss A. She told me she hates her legs, and I promptly told her to shut up.
You don’t have to show off a lot of skin to look stunning and sexy. Have I proven this to you yet?
Miss A, you were awesome. Thanks for being such a good sport about the coffee shop drama and all the rain, it’s definitely paid off with really strong images:) Next time, we’ll shoot somewhere sunny and warm, and we’ll have coffee and tea in a proper Starbucks or something, haha!
xx

London Boudoir Photography: A Halloween Boudoir Photography flashback with the lovely Cassie
A few of you might remember this Halloween inspired London Boudoir Photography session, which we did about a year ago. It’s an oldie-but-goodie, and I just couldn’t resist bringing it out of the shadows one more time. It’s edgy and a bit darker than many of you would perhaps be comfortable with, but hey – it’s Halloween! If you can’t get your alter ego out now, when can you?
I’ve had the pleasure of working with Cassie several times now, and she’s such a cool girl. She’s always willing to indulge crazy, half-baked ideas, and it’s been a pleasure to watch her grow as a model.
This London Boudoir Photography session featured a selection of masks by the ever-creative Tanith from the Masque Boutique. Tanith has a huge selection of masks to fit whatever kind of Halloween debauchery you’ve got planned. Her newest Venetian Masks look particularly tempting if you ask me, but have a stop on over and see what strikes your fancy.
Dramatic posing with a pumpkin and tutu. Because we can.
I liked every single image from this set better in black and white than in colour. The bright orange and red was a bit too in-your-face, but this contrasty black and white gives the set an eerie, realistic feel.
Angry Cassie. Someone must have stolen her pumpkin.
We also tried an elvish/lady of the lake set on this Halloween inspired London Boudoir Photography session. Cassie is wearing lingerie from Oscar de la Renta here (from my Boudoir Wardrobe). It’s one of my favourite sets for Bridal Boudoir Sessions.
For all the Lady Gaga fans out there, this is the perfect mask. It’s heavy, but not unwearable, and oh my my does it look good on camera.
To finish up, a cheeky cat costume on the terrace. Love. If anyone is inspired to do their own last minute Halloween inspired London Boudoir Photography session, give me a call! I’m a sucker for a great theme.
Everyone have a very happy (and safe) Halloween:)
Rebel and Romance is a boutique, London Boudoir Photography company specializing in contemporary, fashion-forward imagery.

London Boudoir Photography: Mrs. A’s Boudoir Photo Shoot
To date, Mrs. A has been one of my favourite clients. I love all the women I work with, but Aurelie just has a little something special about her.
Over the last few months, it’s been my great pleasure to get to know her and to work with her. Through sheer grit and determination, Aurelie has managed to shed a lot of weight recently. Hurrah! The downside? This gorgeous woman felt more confident before the extra weight came off. Sometimes life is like that I guess – it just smacks you right upside the head when you’re least expecting it. However, the fighter she is, Mrs. A decided to do something about it, which is when my lovely little phone rang!
Soon, the two of us were planning a top secret London Boudoir Photography Session like two kids in a candy shop. We had two goals – first, a healthy dose of confidence to help her adjust to her new and still changing body shape, and second, a sexy little surprise for the upcoming Anniversary to her Mr.
We spoke about lingerie at length. I recommended a well fitting corset and the tallest, spikiest shoes a girl can buy. I introduced her to the crack addiction that is Pinterest. As we hung up, I promised she wouldn’t regret giving this whole take-your-clothes-off-and-take-sexy-photos thing we were planning. I think she was dubious at best.
Which is why I’m so happy to report the following…
I WAS RIGHT!
Aurelie was absolutely thrilled with her London Boudoir Photography experience and the resulting images, annnnnnd…so was her husband;) In a supreme move of confidence and genuine girl power, Mrs. A is letting me show off her hot body on my blog. Please reward her with your comments of love and support accordingly!
A few moody black and white images to start the shoot off right…
Such a good bum! Is that what a million squats gets you?
I loved the colour of this set, it really brings out Aurelie’s baby blues.
BAM.
Everyone deserves a gorgeous beauty shot, especially after an hour of professional makeup has done it’s magic.
This look was amazing on A. I’m starting to like corselette pieces almost more than corsets, they somehow seem more sophisticated and elegant. It’s the perfect way to shows off your shape (they work just like shapewear)…
…but they look soooo much better! Deep purple works on almost any skin tone too.
Awww, see? It’s not so scary!
And then we spiced things up. This was my favourite set of the day.
Apparently Aurelie’s husband found this corset and a pair of ridiculously high stilettos in the closet just a day or two after the session. Aurelie isn’t one to strut around in that sort of thing, so she had to do some fast talking and white lying to save the surprise. Well done dahling, well done.
One last set for the MR…Mrs. A, wrapped up in his tie and a hot little waistcoat.
Oh Aurelie, it was such a treat getting to know you and photograph you! You’re beautiful (a statement of fact) and I hope your silly little brain can wrap itself around that idea very soon. Hopefully these images will help it get there! Until next time…
xx/ Stormy
Has Mrs. A inspired you to start planning your own London Boudoir Photography Session with Rebel & Romance Boudoir?
Excellent! A London Boudoir Photography session is such a fun and rewarding experience! I’d suggest having a look through the information on this website to get the feel for how it all works. Then have a good think about the real reasons why you’re interested in doing this – sometimes it’s just to create a show stopping gift, but usually there’s a deeper motive as well – maybe you’re in need of some extra confidence, maybe you’d like to feel younger/hotter/more in control, maybe you’re just looking for a great excuse to go shoe shopping….whatever your motives, I want to hear them. Give me a ring, tell me all, and we’ll get to work! This time of year books up quickly, so the sooner we can pencil you in on my calendar the better:)
Couples Boudoir Photography: Ian and Chiyo’s London Boudoir Photo Shoot
Couples Boudoir is not my specialty, but I’ve been getting so many questions about it lately that it seemed high time I actually show you all what one looks like! In a spell of perfect timing, Chiyo and Ian got in touch a few weeks ago to ask about having me photograph them together. I said yes, and the best part is, I even get to share the results with you here!
Ian is Irish and lives in Ireland. Beautiful Chiyo is French and Japanese, and lives in Germany. To kick off their shiny new long distance love affair (awww!) we all met up in London for some saucy Couples Boudoir Photography.
I’m not going to lie, sometimes the idea of a Couples Boudoir Photography Session makes me nervous. It just seems like it could be so awkward and uncomfortable for everyone involved. However, what I’ve learned is that it really doesn’t need to be. As long as one partner isn’t dragging the other one along and everyone stays relatively professional, it’s actually a lot of fun! Plenty of communication before the shoot meant we all knew what the goals of the day were, and what sort of images we were aiming to create together.
In other words, I emailed Ian a few days before and insisted, “NO funny business Mister!”
Just kidding. But seriously, no funny business.
Look at those eyes! Gorgeous! I think it I had to pick out of the genetic lottery, France and Japan are not two pretty lucky draws.
This is my favourite image of the day. Mushy happy lovey faces? Yes please!
A location change to mix things up. I love how these turned out. You can’t even tell how freezing cold it was.
I suppose that’s another benefit to bringing a boy along – you get someone to cuddle up to! As these two are from afar, I made sure we got a great image with the London skyline in the background to commemorate their time together while in the city. Nothing beats a little wind in the hair either.
Some people are hesitant about booking a Couples Boudoir Session, but it doesn’t have to be any more revealing than you are both comfortable with, especially if it’s been a while since you’ve been photographed professionally. You really don’t have to be half naked to have a personal, intimate Couples Boudoir Photography Session.
How great are these shoes?! There’s no way I could ever walk in them, but props Chiyo. Props for still having two functional ankles, I am impressed.
One last outfit change for Chiyo…
If you’re not feeling daring enough to be photographed in lingerie, a Couples Boudoir Session can be a great way to get some use out of a that one dress we’ve all got in the back of our closet…you know, the one can’t believe you ever bought because it’s way too short/tight/low cut for public? Get it out, we’ll justify the money you spent on it.
Ahhh…love this one too! These two are too cute!
Towards the end of the shoot, we got about 30 seconds of sun. It was just enough for a beautiful little sun flare shot.
Just a few last intimate images to celebrate new love. Hot hot hot.
Chiyo and Ian, you were both fantastic to work with! I hope you had a fantastic time in London together, hope to see you both again soon!
Interested in booking your own Couples Boudoir Photography Session?
Odds are, I’d love to work with you. Don’t be shy! If you’ve been thinking about booking a saucy session for you and your significant other, please feel free to get in touch for all the details about how a Couples Boudoir Photography Session at Rebel & Romance Boudoir Photography works!
Plus Size Boudoir Photography: Miss Olivia’s London Boudoir Photography Session
Oh girls.
Sit down.
Today, I am so thrilled to share with you (drumroll)….my favourite images of Miss Olivia!
Miss O is a beautiful curvalicious woman, a Momma of one beautiful boy, and a magpie collector of vintage lingerie and eclectic costume jewelry. I had a hunch this session would turn out great, but she just went ahead and blew us all away at a sunny London Boudoir Photography location shoot a few weeks ago.
Eeeeee! I hope you love these images HALF as much as I do, and that you’ll all stop whining about your thunder thighs. Curves are hot, mmkay?
Without further ado, let us begin.
We went for a pin-up inspired look to start out our London Boudoir Photography session. It was such an incredibly beautiful day, that the garden just seemed the only appropriate place to be lounging around in curlers and lingerie.
I’m normally not much of a fan of pin-up, but this – this I could shoot all day long.
Olivia, you are perfection.
I couldn’t resist a little dappled light on such an elegant face. Miss Olivia is wearing vintage costume jewelry found from random shops around London and borrowed from her Mother’s collection.
Old Hollywood Glamour? Yes please. This is one of my very favourite images from this London Boudoir Photography session, and such an amazing, bang on pose.
Olivia is wearing a peach What Katie Did corselette in these images. A number like this is universally flattering, as it will show off and enhance your curves while helping to suck in any trouble bits. If you’re a mother, it’s also a perfect, non-obvious way to hide stretch marks.
It’s a genius idea, as it’s actually designed to work like shapewear but still looks like fabulous vintage lingerie. This perfect vintage corselette is yours for just under 70 Pounds, and available in sizes from 32B to 38E in peach or black.
Sometimes a girl just needs to pose glamourously on a freestanding tub…
Look number two was a take on boudoir meets catwalk fashion. We shook out Olivia’s hair, secured her into a form fitting lace bodysuit, loaded her up with gold accessories, and then danced like bohemians in the setting sun.
It was OH so fierce. This fantastic eye makeup is courtesy of Debbie, who worked her magic fingers again to give Olivia a Numero sort of edge.
Finally, our third look. I was insistent about this look, because when I first saw Olivia’s picture months ago I fell in LOVE with her hair. Look at it – it’s amazing! What really blows my mind is that it took about 15 minutes to create start to finish. Miss O just stuck her head under the sink like it was nothing. Ten minutes later, she emerged from the restroom looking like this!
Possibly my favourite thing about offering London Boudoir Photography Sessions is that I get to meet so many interesting and amazing women. It’s such a treat to get to know you all and hear your stories, you’re all so inspiring!
This room was nothing extraordinary in real life, but the instant i saw the colour palette of the bed and that gorgeous window light flooding in from the corner, I knew we were onto something delicious.
When half of your face looks this good, who needs to see the rest anyway? Miss O, I die.
One more for good measure.
To finish up, a few images of Olivia’s impossibly beautiful smile. These were the very last shots of the day – proof that a London Boudoir Photography Session with me is neither painful nor traumatizing! It’s really just a few girls playing dress up:)
Miss Olivia, thank you so much! It was a treat to photograph you and get to know you! Also, a HUGE heartfelt thank you to Katherine and her sister for opening up your lovely home to us, letting us take over your kitchen with a ridiculous amount of makeup and lingerie and shoes, and for feeding and wine-ing us despite it all! It was the most beautiful, inspiring day I’ve had in a long while:)

Boudoir Photography: How to pronounce the word Boudoir
Finally, once and for all, a real live FRENCH woman gives us a lesson in the proper pronuncation of the word “Boudoir.” She’s pretty funny too!
The next photographer that tells me they are a “BooDwaRRRR” Photographer is totally getting this link. You know why? Because there’s no such thing, and you really ought to be able to pronounce your profession correctly.
Say it with me… Boudoir Photography. Boudoir Photography. Boudoir Photography. Excellent!
