London Boudoir Photography: Sneak Peek of Miss H’s Boudoir Photo Shoot!
More of this lovely lady, coming soon!
More of this lovely lady, coming soon!
I’m delighted to announce we’ve been featured on the Photography 1827 Blog, a lovely wedding blog run by Hampshire based wedding photographer Kathryn Andrews.
Kathryn describes her blog as “all about exquisite, beautiful, contemporary, fine art and documentary style wedding photography and stylishly classy weddings which are timeless and elegant but have an understated air of cool about them. You can plan a sophisticated wedding and still add your own personal touches to the day, and it doesn’t have to cost a fortune either. Photography 1827 aims to regularly feature real weddings from high end brides, to style savvy brides who know how to cut costs.”
Lucky for us, she also features a bit of London Boudoir Photography too! (If you read my rant thoughts from The Lipstick Manifesto Blog Feature the other day, you know how I feel about wedding blogs and their boudoir photography dilemma!)
Our feature on the Photography 1827 blog can be found here:

Wedding blogs have taken over the internet like a plague. While they are brilliant if you’re planning a wedding, unfortunately most of them rarely feature Boudoir Photography. (No matter how lovely/worthy/totally applicable to their target market it is!) It’s a tricky struggle – photographers submit beautiful shoots, wait for ages, and either don’t hear back at all, or get responses like “OMG! This is so beautiful!! Unfortunately I am not featuring boudoir photography at the present time.” Meanwhile, brides are requesting boudoir sessions all over the world, it’s obviously a growing trend, they personally love the work, etc.
Eh, maybe one day, right? Anyway, kudos to The Lipstick Manifesto for taking a stand. Hop on over and show them some love!
You can read a bit about me, my Napoleon Dynamite roots, the birth of Rebel & Romance Boudoir Photography, and see a few of my favorite images from recent shoots. There are also a few images from our shiny new studio, in case you haven’t seen it yet.
The lovely Miss Cassie and I got together last week for a Halloween-inspired Boudoir Photography session…
…pumpkins and all!
Our first Halloween pictures were on the theme of “little devil,” and I love how these turned out. If nothing else, it’s proof that Halloween pictures don’t have to be tacky or overly gruesome.
Cassie is wearing a tutu style skirt from our boudoir wardrobe as part of her “little devil” getup.
Next, we went for a bridal boudoir feel. I think these turned out a bit more masquerade ball than bridal, but Cassie still looks beautiful and mysterious!
Cassie is wearing an Oscar de la Renta bridal corset in these Halloween pictures, courtesy of our boudoir wardrobe.
Then an elvish/lady of the lake set…
Followed by a Lady Gaga inspired look!
All the masks we used in Cassie’s Halloween Boudoir Photography Session are courtesy of the lovely and talented Tanith at The Masque Boutique. Tanith is both designer and creator, and she’s got a great selection of products available.
If you’ve looking for something special, she also offers bespoke design services (for extremely reasonable rates), so it’s well worth a look around!
To finish up, a cheeky cat costume on the terrace.
Cassie, it was fab (as always) working with you! xxx!
I’m thrilled to announce that Rebel and Romance is now offering Hen Parties! We’ve got several different packages available, so whether you want to keep it simple with a Boudoir Photography Experience Package, or go hog wild with a Burlesque Themed Boudoir Party (complete with Burlesque dance lessons, makeovers, and a photo shoot for each Hen!), we’ve got something to suit. If you’ve got something special in mind, we’ll come up with a bespoke idea for a bespoke bride!
Every London Hen Party package includes the following for each Hen; a nerve-calming welcome drink, nibbles, a professionally edited and retouched (airbrushed) 5×7 print, and a 5×7 print of the whole group together. We’ve also got a giant selection of designer lingerie, corsets, and fabulous shoes in a variety of sizes, so no need to spend out for new digs. If you’re working to a budget for your London Hen Party, you’re welcome to brink your own drinks and order in food to the studio too!
I could tell you over and over how much fun we had at our first London Hen Party / Burlesque Boudoir Party, but I think it would be best to just show you…
(For this London Hen Party, the Hens chose a Burlesque Boudoir theme. We arranged to have a full makeover for each hen, as well as a burlesque dance lesson and a Rebel & Romance photo shoot experience.)
Below, a behind the scenes look at a Burlesque Dance Lesson, taught by the lovely Miss Zuki….
Fabulous, no?!
Next, it’s makeover time! For our first London Hen Party, I was joined by the lovely and talented session stylist Emma Hellier, who is the owner and pink-haired sweetheart from the Emma Hellier Salon. Professional makeup artists Emma K and Jennifer Garcia also joined us to create beautiful, glamourous boudoir makeup looks for each Hen, and you can tell from the testimonials that they really outdid themselves!
The Hens from this London Hen Party gave me permission to post their “before” pictures, and although each of them is beautiful just how they are, you can really see what a little pampering and camera magic can do!
My first lovely Hen – Miss Emmira…
Miss Emmira is stunning, no? I love love love her corset, it’s such a great way to do a Burlesque look!
And this is how to do feather boas – classy, not trashy!
Emmira is wearing our sequined Armani heels here, which are yours to borrow for any session. Emmira, you’re a knockout! Thanks so much mama!
Next up, the lovely Miss Selda!
And after! Selda is wearing a Victoria’s Secret lace up corset and lacy, strappy black bottoms, both from our boudoir wardrobe.
She also happens to have the most amazing hair…ever.
SO PRETTY! Selda, you were fab, thanks for a great shoot!
My next victim was Jasz…
…who is just so fierce that it makes you a little sick.
Miss Jasz is the perfect example of how to make your boudoir shoot reflect your personality. If you’re a colorful, bold, bright person, then choose your lingerie to follow suit!
You can always tone it down with a black and white image anyway!
Jasz looks amazing upside down. It’s a fact! Thanks for a great shoot lady!
And then there was Victoria,
who totally blew me away!
Is she not the classiest lip-ring wearer you’ve ever seen in your life?!
I love her Tim Burton inspired lingerie too, so cool! And those eyes….!!
Oh Miss Uma Thurman Victoria, you are so beautiful – inside and out! I’m so glad you enjoyed your time with us!
Emma is like a little bundle of fire – gorgeous blue eyes and shocking pink hair.
Emma is wearing a pink corset with black lace detail and a frilly black tu-tu, both from our boudoir wardrobe. Her shoes were a gift from her Mr. – a man with very good taste it seems!
Oooh Emma, I can’t thank you enough – your were amazeballs!
So that’s it! Massive thanks to all the lovely Hens, Emma (hairstylist), Emma (makeup artist) and Jenn, and of course Miss Zuki! Hope to see all of you girls again very soon!
Last weekend, the girls and I had a heck of a time at our very first London Hen Party, which had a fabulous Burlesque Boudoir theme! It was soooo much fun, and I can’t wait to do more of these!
All our London Hen Party girls had their hair done by Miss Emma Hellier herself,
and received a glamourous new makeup look courtesy of our professional makeup artists Emma and Jenn.
So…much…makeup!
The hens preparing for their Burlesque Dance Lesson with Miss Zuki, and a makeover photo shoot with yours truly!
It was sunny and beautiful, so we finished off this London Hen Party with a drink on the terrace.
Oh my my, these girls put on a H.O.T. show!
Massive thanks to all our lovely hens and my hair and makeup magicians!! Also to Miss Zuki for teaching everyone her burlesque move secrets!
…dancer, student, yummy mummy, and gorgeous to boot! We started off with a ballet inspired London Boudoir Photography look, complete with a frilly tu-tu and Victoria’s Secret corset borrowed from our lingerie wardrobe here at the studio.
Zuki felt confident doing her own boudoir makeup so we skipped having a professional makeup artist for her session. I think she did such a great job – heaven knows I can’t manage eyeliner wings like that!
Zuki teaches belly dancing classes, so her second London Boudoir Photography look was inspired by those shimmying hips. I love love love the gold beaded belt she brought along. The flowered bra in the image above right is also borrowed from our lingerie wardrobe here at the studio. Zuki’s shoes are her own.
It’s hard work looking so glamourous, so we moved things to the bedroom set for a bit.
I love this boudoir photo on the left – it’s the perfect blend of casual, sexy, and approachable. Sure to lure in any man!
You can never ever go wrong with sky high strappy heels and great hair. It’s a matter of fact.
Oh Zuki – it must be hard to be so beautiful!
Our last set for this London Boudoir Photography session was a pretty-in-pink ensamble,
…with one amazing head shot to finish up a fabulous shoot! Miss Zuki, thanks so much for a wonderful shoot! Can’t wait to get going with our little project – see you very soon!
You can use the menu bar above to book your very own R&R Boudoir Experience! Not quite ready? Visit the website to find out more about us and London Boudoir Photography.
Zuki is one talented and busy lady! Yummy Mummy and studious by day, dance instructor by night (you name it, she can teach it to you), she’s got a very full plate. It was my pleasure to get to know her better last week, and I’m excited to share the results of her session with you tomorrow.
Even better, Miss Zuki and I are cooking up some uber exciting plans for a new addition to the Rebel and Romance Boudoir Photography Family. It’s hush hush for now, but stay tuned – you’re not going to miss it!
For the second half of her plus size boudoir session, Annie and I headed outside. We wanted these images to have a much more fashion oriented look, which I think we managed nicely with a black victorian era top and lacy short bottoms courtesy of Victoria’s Secret.
Bold lips, a messy up do, and glamourous earrings complete the look. Fierce!
If you missed the first half of this plus size boudoir session, then you should know that Annie is a fabulous plus size model with a heart of gold. She’s had loads of success in the industry, working for big names like Marks and Spencer and Special K!
Miss Annie has just recently signed with one of the most well respected plus size modelling agencies, Hughes Models.
Big surprise right? She’s so stunning, of course she’s on their books! If you’re feeling shocked that this is what a plus size model looks like, I HEAR YOU. The fashion industry needs a bit of a reality check if you ask me!
To finish up the shoot, we decided to get a little crazy. Larah, our makeup artist for this plus size boudoir session, was right on cue. She whipped out the most extravagant false eyelashes I’ve ever seen! I had my doubts, but was pleasantly surprised when these images turned out looking so cool!
Something about these reminds me of Rachel Bilson….maybe it’s Annie’s swagger!
Did someone say pin up?
Oh Annie! You’re fab fab fab! Thanks for an amazing day, can’t wait to see you again!
Stay tuned for more plus size boudoir photography, on the blog soon!
