I have a detailed styling guide for you, full of ideas for what to wear and suitable for all  body shapes and sizes. There are a handful of tried and true, foolproof looks that are not expensive and not hard to put together. You can go wild with a shoot wardrobe, or you cand use things you already own. Non-traditional and non-lingerie options are always welcome. I have a list of retailers large and small if you’d like to pick up a few new things, maybe use it as an excuse to level up your underwear drawer or treat yourself;) Or don’t! This part does not have to be stressful, I promise.

This is not one of those factory farm experiences where everyone gets the same 10 poses and 3 lighting setups. This is a custom, bespoke shoot for YOU. Several weeks before your shoot, we’ll have a proper chat about what your goals are and make a game plan.

This is also a great chance to put a face to a name, which helps massively with any pre-shoot nerves. We’ll talk through all your questions and concerns, and make sure you’re feeling okay about everything. We use Zoom or WhatsApp, so it’s easy to fit in.

Mood boards are really helpful, plus they are fun to make. We use them for wardrobe ideas, lighting inspo, makeup plans, a general vibe check, etc. You can make one from scratch, or riff off one of mine. If you don’t know what direction you want to go in, just pin a bunch of stuff you like. 9 times out of 10 you’ll start to get a feel for what you actually want by the time you’re finished. We’ll go through it together as we plan your shoot.

I’m going to assume you have NO IDEA what to do in front of the camera, and you would like to be guided every step of the way, including how to stand, where to put your hands, and where to look. If your inner supermodel comes out mid-shoot, great. If not, absolutely no problem. I’ll literally walk you through the entire shoot so there’s no need to worry about posing. It’s MY JOB to make sure you look great, you just have to show up and not take it all too seriously:)

My signature editing and colour grading process is included on all images by default. The level of retouching your images receive is your choice, but in general I remove things that are temporary (bruises, pimples, bulges created by clothing, distracting flyaway hairs, etc.) and do further adjustments to anything else that bugs you, whether that’s fading a scar, making cellulite less visible, and old tattoo, or whatever else. If you’d prefer to see yourself with no retouching whatsoever, that’s of course fine too.

This is where the magic is. Ask me how it works? I don’t know. Over a decade of doing this, and I still don’t understand how this is SO powerful for women (myself included). I’m a big fan of making actual, tangible art with the images we create of you.

First, because most digital images end up on a hard drive, rarely to be seen again. Or lost. 

Second, because this is an event worthy of some pomp and circumstance. Let’s actually celebrate that you did this! Let’s commemorate it with something tangible. Maybe it’s a beautiful album, or a piece of tasteful wall art. Even a fun little vintage viewfinder. Let’s get you something you can whip out when you’re 80 and shock everyone.
