London Boudoir Photography: Mrs. M’s Boudoir Photo Shoot
One more to show you from last month’s Dream Shoot at the Victorian Mansion…
Mrs. M:)
Lately, I’ve been making a real effort to meet up with clients before their London Boudoir Photography Sessions. It seems to calm nerves and help put people at ease. And unless you make a habit of getting half naked in front of the camera, odds are you’re going to be a little nervous. It’s been really nice doing it too – you’re all so lovely. And let’s face it, I’m not one to turn down an overpriced cup of coffee or sneaky mid-week cocktail, now am I?
Unfortunately, Mrs. M and I live quite far apart, so we didn’t have a chance to get together pre-shoot. However, I’m happy to report that after exchanging lots of emails, she arrived in one piece, well prepared and ready to shoot. We made up for it by having a good long gab while viewing her images post-shoot anyway.
Mrs. M is like many of you in that she’s been thinking about booking a London Boudoir Photography Session for a long time (years), but has only just finished her first one! Losing that proverbial ten pounds will suck up a whole ten years if you let it, so this is my official advice – forget the scale. Book your session for a month or so out, and promise yourself you’ll eat healthily for the few weeks leading up to your shoot. After all, there’s nothing like the thought of being in lingerie on camera to motivate you to dodge the fried stuff. If you get to the magical number by the time your London Boudoir Photography Session comes around, fab. If not, so what? Me and my good friend Photoshop have got your back. Or bum. Or whatever bit might need a little love;) The only person who thinks you’re not good enough/slim enough/young enough/pretty enough/confident enough/whatever enough to do this is you, so get out of your own way already. You are more than enough exactly as you are.
Okay, I’ll step off my soap box now. On to Mrs. M’s shoot!
Mrs. M and I started off her London Boudoir Photography Session with an oversized jumper and combat boots, because we could.
This image ended up being both my favourite, and hers. If I told you how old Mrs. M is, you’d call me a liar.
The light coming in from this window was perfect for a moody, sultry image. Mrs. M wanted to keep things fairly casual, and a white tank is a great way to do that. It’s approachable, and much easier than stockings and suspenders.
Mrs. M’s hair is toned with a little bit of purple at the moment, and it shows up so nicely in the sun.
Just dancing on the stairs, as you do.
Reason number 548 why I love this place: old doors opening to gorgeous room with massive chandelier.
Oh, the red lip. And the opera gown. And the sultry stare. Love it.
So, we tried this for a laugh. I was dubious at first, afraid it might look too tacky or prop heavy, but I actually think this turned out really cute!
Mrs. M, I’m so glad I had the chance to work with you. Thanks for a great London Boudoir Photography Session, and a lovely chat with you and your Mr. the other day. Until next time;)
xx
