Boudoir Photography Inspiration: Giorgio Armani’s ‘Boudoir’ Fashion Film

In case the end of fashion week has left you depressed and hung over, here’s a little somethin’ somethin’ to lift your spirits – a beautiful fashion film showcasing Giorgio Armani’s Fall/Winter 2011-2012 collection. I loved this campaign in print, so much so that I ripped the images out of Vogue and pinned them to my inspiration board weeks ago!

This film features Sasha Pivovarova, Russian show-stopper supermodel and part time artist, who is probably best knows for her 6 season run with fashion house Prada. Co-star Diego Fragoso is a Brazilian born male model, and he is currently represented by Elite Agency in Milan.

I love the feel of this film, and it’s just one more testament that boudoir photography does not always have to be full of lace and fluff. Boudoir photography can be as modern and city chic as this is, or boudoir photography can be casual and relaxed, even outdoors! It is what you make of it girls!

‘Boudoir’ was created by Mert and Marcus, a dynamic duo in the world of fashion photography. Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott first met in England in the mid 90’s and they joined forces shortly after. Their first photos created as a team were immediately picked up by London fashion magazine “Dazed and Confused,” and the duo has gone on to create a beautiful, creative portfolio that reads like a who’s who list of fashion.

Known for portraits of strong, sophisticated women, Mert and Marcus demand perfection. “The difference between us and other photographers is that we care a lot about appearance,” says Alas. “We spend most of the time in the make-up and hairstyling rooms.” Love it! I can’t find any information about the makeup artist, hairstylist, or styling team for this project, so if anyone knows give me a yell!
